A wide, low daybed of hand-woven bamboo cane over a hardwood frame, made for terraces, decks and the hour when the sun is highest. The weave is done by hand in our workshop; the frame is treated for sun and salt air, because we build a few steps from both. An ASK design, built to order.

The making
Meridian was drawn for the hour a terrace usually loses — noon, when the sun stands straight overhead and everything else retreats indoors. The frame is cut from weather-treated hardwood and joined before a single cane is bent; the bamboo is soaked, wrapped and bound by hand, one length at a time, until the platform reads as one woven surface. The cushion is sewn in outdoor linen. We build a few steps from the sea, so every material is chosen to sit in sun and salt without complaint.
